Forest honey · Late harvest 2026
130 g
The last harvest of the year. In the mountains around the coffee region, the bees work through the drier months of mid year, when the forest. We harvest at the end of that season, just before the October rains, when the colonies start keeping what they make for themselves.
2026 was an El Niño year. The rains started falling short in March, and by October El Niño had been officially declared. Fewer rains meant less water in the flowers, so the bees gathered slowly and worked harder for every drop. The result is a small harvest and a honey that tastes of this year: Rich woody caramel tones
There won’t be another 2026. When it’s gone, we wait for the forest’s next season.

What we learn, we share
From your first colony to your harvest day, we offer guidance, inspection and hands on support, following the same practices we use in our own forest
-
Something looks wrong with your colony, or you are not sure what you are seeing? Send us photos or a video and we will talk it through with you on a call, and tell you what we would check next
-
Thinking about keeping bees? We help you decide whether your land, time and budget are ready, choose where your colonies should go, what equipment you need and what the first year looks like, and connect you with trusted suppliers
-
We visit your apiary, inspect each colony with you, and leave you a written record of what we saw and what we recommend
-
Want bees on your land but don’t have the time to look after them? We set up and look after the colonies on your property, following the same practices as in our own forest. The colonies stay yours, and so do their records
-
We work alongside you on harvest day: deciding what to take and what to leave the colony, extracting, and storing the honey proper
